lThe internal ID assigned by Nipper is the provider ID
reported to NZQA. It is assigned automatically
by Nipper to every person added to the
Nipper database. The number increases by 1 for each new record. If a student is deleted, their ID number is NOT re-assigned. You add a student to the Nipper database once
and ONCE only. There is
no need to create a new student
record at each enrolment.
lIn future you may be required to obtain a “National Student Index” number for students.
This number doubles as the NZQA Record of Learning ID.
lYou can also record a TEC ID (for Foundation trainees), an IRD number, and a WINZ ID.
lA further field called “Other ID” can be used to store any other ID, for example an ITO ID, or the ID number of the student in an earlier student management system.
lYou can use most of these numbers to select a student.
